A handicraft technology

Material

I make the weapons from the spring steel 14 260.

Hardening

The blades are hardened industrially on 50 - 52HRc to ritch the better results of hardness together with flexibility and relentlessness.

Crossguards and pommels

I don´t use any casts of the crossguards and pommels. All of them are prehammered and finally sanded and polished, exept of the coin-shaped and pear-shaped pommels which are lathed. Even the crossguards holes aren´t milled, but broken through with the smithy way and adjusted to the shape of the stipe with calibrated pricker.

Example of the crossguard after hammering.

A Viking swords pommels

These pommels are also prehammered and finally sended and polished. There are two pieces of the pommel which are riveted together in the same way as in the viking period.
